Phase-field simulation of dendritic growth in a binary alloy with thermodynamics data

This paper simulates the dendrite growth process during non-isothermal solidification in the Al-Cu binary alloy by using the phase-field model. The heat transfer equation is solved simultaneously. The thermodynamic and kinetic parameters are directly obtained from existing database by using the Calculation of Phase Diagram （CALPHAD） method. The effects of the latent heat and undercooling on the dendrite growth, solute and temperature profile during the solidification of binary alloy are investigated. The results indicate that the dendrite growing morphologies could be simulated realistically by linking the phase-field method to CALPHAD. The secondary arms of solidification dendritic are better developed with the increase of undercooling. Correspondingly, the tip speed and the solute segregation in solid-liquid interface increase, but the tip radius decreases.     

Comparison between photoluminescence spectroscopy and photoreflectance spectroscopy in CuGaSe2 epilayer

Photoluminescence （PL） spectroscopy and photoreflectance （PR） spectroscopy are very useful techniques for studying the properties of materials. In this paper, the same material of Cu-rich metal-organic vapour phase epitaxy （MOVPE） grown CuGaSe2 layer is investigated in a temperature range from 20 to 300 K to compare these two techniques. Both PL and PR spectra appear red shifted, less intense and broadened. The temperature dependence of interband transitions is studied by using the Manoogian Leclerc equation. The values of the band gap energy at T=0K and the effective phonon temperature are estimated. The temperature dependences of intensities and broadenings of PL and PR spectral lines are also analysed. Based on the results of the comparison, the features and applications of the PL and PR can be shown in detail.     

The dynamics of triple-well trapped Bose-Einstein condensates with atoms feeding and loss effects

In this paper, we consider the macroscopic quantum tunnelling and self-trapping phenomena of Bose-Einstein condensates （BECs） with three-body recombination losses and atoms feeding from thermal cloud in triple-well potential. Using the three-mode approximation, three coupled Gross-Pitaevskii equations （GPEs）, which describe the dynamics of the system, are obtained. The corresponding numerical results reveal some interesting characteristics of BECs for different scattering lengths. The self-trapping and quantum tunnelling both are found in zero-phase and ：r-phase modes. Furthermore, we observe the quantum beating phenomenon and the resonance character during the self-trapping and quantum tunnelling. It is also shown that the initial phase has a significant effect on the dynamics of the system.     

Growth of β-Ga2O3 nanorods by ammoniating Ga2O3/V thin films on Si substrate

This paper reports that/3-Ga2O3 nanorods have been synthesized by ammoniating Ga2O3 films on a V middle layer deposited on Si（111） substrates. The synthesized nanorods were confirmed as monoclinic Ga2O3 by x-ray diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectra. Scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy reveal that the grown β-Ga2O3 nanorods have a smooth and clean surface with diameters ranging from 100 nm to 200 nm and lengths typically up to 2μm. High resolution TEM and selected-area electron diffraction shows that the nanorods are pure monoclinic Ga2O3 single crystal. The photoluminescence spectrum indicates that the Ga2O3 nanorods have a good emission property. The growth mechanism is discussed briefly.     

Current--voltage characteristics of an individual helical CdS nanowire rope

This paper studies the electronic transport in an individual helically twisted CdS nanowire rope, on which platinum microleads are attached by focused-ion beam deposition. The current-voltage （I - V） characteristics are nonlinear from 300 down to 60 K. Some step-like structures in the I - V curves and oscillation peaks in the differential conductance （dI/dV - V） curves have been observed even at room temperature. It proposes that the observed behaviour can be attributed to Coulomb-blockade transport in the one-dimensional CdS nanowires with diameters of 6-10 nm.     

Polarization beam splitter based on dielectric periodic structure with different EFCs for two polarizations

A dielectric multi-layered structure is studied in this letter. It is found that at some frequency ranges, the equal-frequency contours (EFCs) are almost flat for one polarization but still curve for the other. Based on this property, we propose a novel polarization beam splitter.     

连续时间马尔可夫决策过程的折扣模型

本文考虑的是转移速率族任意且费用率函数可能无界的连续时间马尔可夫决策过程的折扣模型．放弃了传统的要求相应于每个策略的　Ｑ　－过程唯一等条件,而首次考虑相应每个策略的　Ｑ　－过程不一定唯一,　转移速率族也不一定保守,　费用率函数可能无界,　且允许行动空间非空任意的情形．　本文首次用"α－折扣费用最优不等式"更新了传统的α－折扣费用最优方程,并用"最优不等式"和新的方法,不仅证明了传统的主要结果即最优平稳策略的存在性,　而且还进一步探讨了（　∈＞０　　）－最优平稳策略,具有单调性质的最优平稳策略,　以及（∈≥０）　－最优决策过程的存在性,　得到了一些有意义的新结果．　最后,　提供了一个迁移率受控的生灭系统例子,　它满足本文的所有条件,　而传统的假设（见文献［１－１４］）均不成立．     

Marcinkiewicz integral on hardy spaces

In this paper we prove that the Marcinkiewicz integral is an operator of type (H ¹,L ¹) and of type (H ^1,,L ^1,). Accurate computation of the smallest eigenvalue of a diagonally dominant -matrix

If each off-diagonal entry and the sum of each row of a diagonally dominant -matrix are known to certain relative accuracy, then its smallest eigenvalue and the entries of its inverse are known to the same order relative accuracy independent of any condition numbers. In this paper, we devise algorithms that compute these quantities with relative errors in the magnitude of the machine precision. Rounding error analysis and numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the numerical behaviour of the algorithms.
